They say prevention is better than cure, and I believe it’s accurate. I mean, why not move on a safer track beforehand? Isn’t it the right thing to do? Here I have a few points you must keep in mind when using a massage chair:

If you observe any kind of blisters on your skin post-massage, make sure to decrease the intensity of chair massage therapy immediately.

In case you suffer from skin disorders like blisters, burns, ringworms, you should avoid using a massage chair altogether.

If you feel numb right after having a chair massage therapy, you shouldn’t use a massage chair for more than ten minutes.

Using a massage chair for more than 20 minutes can release stress hormones in the body, causing stress and anxiety, so the timings must be monitored.

If you suffer from medical conditions like osteoarthritis, you must keep the massage intensity low.

People suffering from deep vein thrombosis must not use a massage chair as it can cause pulmonary embolism that can be incredibly harmful, even life-threatening.

If you have cysts or tumors in any part of your body, make sure to consult a physician before using a massage chair, as the pressure can severely affect tumors.

If you’re pregnant, high-intensity chair massage therapy is highly discouraged. Oh, and if you have a history of preterm labor, you should avoid using a massage chair throughout the time.

Lastly, if you have any blood disorders, I would suggest you consult a hematologist before taking chair massage therapy. Blood disorders can be severe, so you shouldn’t take any risks.

Everything that has its upside has a downside as well. Let’s just call it a natural way of life. Still, I would say massage chairs are pretty safe to use. Yes, they do have a few side effects, but they are rare.

As I shared with you above, it’s been four years, and I’ve never experienced any side effects. You may call me lucky, but the truth is, I take care of the massage time. I take massage chair therapy no more than two times a week, and it has never exceeded 15 minutes.
